Seven Peaks

Today we went to Seven Peaks in Provo. We all had a great time. The kids are total dare devils and constantly amaze me with what they are willing to try. I admire their enthusiasm. It's totally contagious.

Tuesday July 28th

Yesterday our family attended the open house for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. It was a beautiful temple and we felt the Spirit while watching the movie, especially when they talked about our ancestors. The temple tour was hot, slow and tedious but I am still glad we went.

Monday

Andrew, Andrew, Andrew. Why can't you sleep like a normal person? Now do you understand why no one wants to share a bed with you while on vacation? Try sleeping straight, try to not kick all your blankets on the floor and try to keep your pillow case on. There is no way that can be comfortable.

Sunday

I have been dying to get my blanket started but I hated to until I got further into the fall one. Once I felt like I had done enough I started laying this out. I couldn't get the blue to work for me and with that gone the mint green was standing out. Once I took those out I fell in love.

Day Late...

Yesterday may have been Pioneer Day but tonight was the fireworks. Our awesome neighbors put on a show and we went out to watch. We really love our neighbors.

Friday

(This could have been a great shot had I not been hanging out of a moving car with a low battery.)
It is time for back to shopping. Today we shopped until we just about dropped. It was hot and at times horrid but we got some screamin' deals.

Working in the Garden

Tonight I decided that it was time to pull the weeds that had gotten taller than my tomato plants. I found a few lady bugs while I was out there. I think that they are my favorite insect. Of course that's not saying much.

My Dirty Little Secrets

I like to keep a private stash of candy around the house for emergencies. You know, like PMS. Hot Tamales are a candy that the kids won't eat. I however can't stop eating these once I open them. For now the box will remain closed but I'm not sure how long I can hold out.

Sun-Tues

Tuesday-I hate this part. I hate this part. I. Hate. This. Part! I am to the point where I have to get everything where I want it to be before I start sewing it together. It is hard to "see" if the colors are right while it is on the ground so I take a picture then make adjustments. Right now it is not anything like the picture above.
Monday-Tonight was the closing night for West Side Story. Maggie and I were planning to go but we never set a date. When I realized it was the last night to see it I asked Paul to go with me. He agreed and beside my stomach issues we had a pretty nice date night.
Sunday-Today the beans were ready! We had them tonight with our dinner and they were delicious. I only wish that they wouldn't change color after they are cooked.

Saturday

Tonight was the last day of AF's Steel Days. I wanted to go and watch the fireworks. I thought it would be fun to spend time together instead of me reading, Paul playing video games and the kids doing who knows what all in our separate corners. We were glad we went but seriously, could those two trees be in a worse location?

198/365

I was laying in bed watching TV in my undies (hey, it's hot!) when the kids yelled ICE CREAM TRUCK! I got dressed in record time, grabbed some cash and off we went chasing the truck. The kids haven't stopped declaring their love for the ice cream man.

Thursday

You call this dinner? I had no idea what I was going to eat for dinner tonight. I found 4 cheese ravioli in the fridge. I went out to the garden and got fresh basil and the one grape tomato that was almost ripe. I added some olive oil, balsamic vinegar and garlic. It was actually quite tasty!

Yesterday

Yesterday a large group of us went to check out the new pool in Lindon. We had a great time playing in the water and catching some rays.

Uh-Oh Someone has been playing in Photoshop

Paul and I got to go out on a date tonight. On our way home from dinner I had Paul drive through Kneaders so I could get a cinnamon roll. We went home the back way through the country and I saw this place. It was unique. I liked it. I jazzed up the colors a little and the rest is history.

Monday

Last night Paul and I went out to check on our garden, actually, my garden. I noticed it was time to harvest peas!!! I couldn't wait to make stir-fry with them. I can't tell you the feeling I get when I am eating something I grew. It's awesome.

Sunday Drive

This evening we drove the Alpine Loop. There were wildflowers all along the way but nowhere to stop for pictures. When we got to Aspen Grove I pulled off and got some pictures of the Columbines.

Woe is Me

That is how I felt this morning. Tears were shed, frustration set in and I broke down. I am frustrated with our house. I really don't want to be here any more but if we are to be here I want it better. Paul didn't know how to react, so he hung the light fixtures that we had bought FIVE MONTHS AGO.

Friday

These colors remind me of a big bowl of rainbow sherbet. They excite me and make my heart skip a beat. I'm not convinced that my original plan for these fabrics will showcase the colors properly. I have a lot of decisions to make before I make the first cut.

190/365

I stopped by my friends house tonight and she hooked me up. Thanks Lisa! I think this will keep me busy for a little while, don't you? She has two more series that she says I must read when I am done with these. Sweet!

Yesterday

I love summer for all the great fruit it provides. We bought two lunch sized bags of cherries for a dollar a piece. I'll be honest, they weren't great, but I still love summer fruit. From now on I will look inside the brown paper bag before paying ;)

I have been crocheting for years. I enjoy it so much, but really, I want to know how to knit. Last week I bought this yarn that was on sale. I knew it was to pretty to crochet with so I bought some knitting needles and tonight I started watching tutorials online. I am making pretty good progress but think I would be better off learning from a person.

Monday July 6th

My garden is coming along slowly but surely. Our cold, wet June made it so things are really behind schedule. I have some tomatoes that should be ready before too much longer and then this cute green pepper that brought a smile to my face. I think I will have green beans coming out of my ears in a couple of weeks. I can't wait!

Happy Birthday Honey

Paul turned 35 today. We celebrated with good food, cupcakes and time with family. We all love Paul so much. He is a great husband and father!

HaPpY 4tH oF JuLy!

We went to the Stadium of Fire tonight and it was A-W-E-S-O-M-E! I love my country, I love my freedom and I love my FiReWoRkS!

Friday

Tonight we got to watch this beauty get unfurled outside of the cougar's stadium. It took 24 service people from our armed forces to carry it out and two cranes to lift it. It is GIANT and amazing. God Bless the USA.

Almost Done

I have one large border to go and this little puppy is finished. I am just waiting for the backing to arrive and then it will be ready to visit the quilter. Oh happy day. It feels good to finish things.

Things like this are why I love our local grocery store. They are always doing something fun. We went in rather early today to pick up my antibiotics for my mystery arm issues and saw this. It was a totally fun surprise!
