270/365

My goal this week is to get my Halloween stuff all put out. We aren't traveling, we don't have a birthday, I'm not preparing a lesson. I only have a couple of commitments. In theory it should happen. Paul says I am just going to jinx myself. Only time will tell.

BYU FOOTBALL!

Today we got to go to our first game of the year. We missed last weekend's game because we were in California. The kids were a little sad that we got there too late today to play all the games that local merchants have set up outside the stadium but then we got to see Cosmo and they perked right up. Who doesn't love Cosmo?!?

Friday

Happy Birthday Part Duex. Tonight we celebrated Emma's birthday with Paul's family. This is a cookies and cream ice cream cake that Emma wanted.

Thursday

Today our precious baby girl turned 11. I can't believe it. Happy Birthday Love Bug.

Wednesday

I am so far behind. I wanted all of my Halloween/Fall stuff out right after 9/11 but I still haven't done it. I just set out a couple of things that I bought this year but other than that I've done nothing. I need to get it together soon. (Don't worry the clock won't be staying)

The First Day of Fall

Oh what a glorious day! It's my favorite time of year. I love the colors and the crisp cool air. Happy Autumn everyone. (Only one more G picture to go!)

Monday

One of my favorite things about California is the shopping. This trip was no exception. I dropped some dough in H&M. Swoon. My love affair began almost 10 years ago while in Stockholm. I bought several awesome skirts and a dress that I am way too fat for now at H&M. I didn't realize until recently that it was available in the US. My wallet wishes I didn't know. I am now on trend with the fall cardigan craze.

Sunday

I decided to treat the family to brunch at Goofy's Kitchen. The thing I love about eating there is the level of interaction the kids get with the characters. They got to dance with Goofy, hug the chipmunks repeatedly and Andrew took a little stroll with Baloo.

Saturday

You should have seen the kids today at the beach. It was like they had never seen the ocean before. They had so much fun and would have stayed for hours if we had let them.

Friday

Here are the kids acting scared right before getting on the Hollywood Tower of Terror. We totally love this ride. It never gets old.

Thursday

Help, I can't decide! I love them both for different reasons. This was our first day in the park. The kids and I went in alone and had a really good time. We had never seen Pocahontas and Meeko before so that was a treat. It was also not very crowded so I got a picture of the castle without anyone in it. That never happens.

Wednesday

Here is another installment of which crappy picture do I choose? I took just a few at both the Salt Lake airport and the John Wayne airport. (our favorite by the way) None of them turned out well. I would like to blame the kids (they were acting goofy out of excitement) but I won't do that;) I will just pick a picture they aren't in!

My Autumn Bag

I recently bought myself a new bag for autumn. Paul insists on calling it my mustard purse. I insist that it's saffron, not mustard, but I digress. Emma came home from Activity Days with five flowers. When I saw this one I knew I had to have it. I bought it from her (Oh yes I did) and put it right on my bag. It's awesome! I will think of here every time I see it.

Monday

Today I was determined to finish my wall hanging. I was also determined to put on a double border (as seen here) but the light outer border was not meant to be. I couldn't live with the spacing inconsistencies so I took it off. (See Marius, he thinks these are custom made lounge pads. He couldn't be more wrong!)

Sunday

I am so ready for Halloween. Each and every year I think, I can't buy more decorations there's no room for them, but every year I find something I can't live without. This argyle pumpkin spoke to me. I also have a small round one. They are just too cool!

Saturday

Yesterday was Nancy's birthday but we waited to celebrate it until tonight. She had asked us all to write her a poem for her birthday. Paul and I gave her a series of haiku's. Happy Birthday Nancy.

Friday September 11th

Today was the last day of Emma's flag duties at her school. I was glad that I was able to get a picture of her with our beautiful flag on September 11th.

Thursday

Today I got to pick up my quilts! I am so excited to have them back. They look amazing. Now I need to find time to bind them. This one will be bound with the green fabric that you see in this picture.

252/365

I can't stop grinning. Seriously. I really can't stop. I poked my head, and camera, into the first ballroom dance class today. They were practicing their first step and then the teacher said "boys choice to practice holds." Watching these timid little boys pick a girl was just adorable. Really, it was too cute for words.

Mmmm Peaches

Emma went peach picking again. She came home with sooo many. I was afraid we wouldn't be able to use them all so I did my what had to be done. I doubled the peach julius recipe tonight.

Monday

Tonight Andrew came downstairs long after he was suppose to be in bed. He was so excited to show me his Transformer. It didn't matter that it was something I had seen many times before. He was so enthusiastic about showing it (the things he will do to avoid sleeping) to me again that I couldn't resist listening to him.

My Baby

This past week I was asking my friends on Facebook if anyone had a little girl I could borrow. I was yearning for the good ol' days full of pink, plastic, crappy toys like Strawberry Shortcake and Littlest Pet Shop. When Emma came in wearing this shirt I couldn't help it. I hugged her and cried a little. She's still my little girl.

Saturday

Are you ready for some football? BYU started their season today playing against Oklahoma University in the new Dallas Stadium and they won! Go Cougars!

247/365

My mom and dad came for a visit today. I had asked my dad if he could teach the kids how to fish and today was the day. We went up to Tibble Fork Reservoir to practice. Andrew has now earned his fishing belt loop and arrow points for all the activities associated with fishing. We didn't catch anything but we had fun! I love this picture because it shows how interested they were in everything that grandpa was doing.

I have to admit something...

yesterday is the second time this year that I have forgotten to take a photo. Yesterday I took my camera everywhere but never used it. I got a really bad headache in the evening and went to bed around 9:00pm and never thought about taking a picture again. Two times out of the year is really not that bad, right? I snapped this one this morning and just plan to count it as yesterday.
Paul and I have been using this video for the last couple of days. It sucks, we ache but something needed to happen. Wish us luck.

Onto the next project

I have started my autumn wall hanging. This one is super easy, super quick and I hope it ends up super cute.

Favorite Things

One of my most favorite things in the world is vertical/misshapen pumpkins. Guess what? I'm growing one. It's a dream come true. Look at it in all of it's wonky glory. Could it be any more imperfect? I wonder how long before the weight of it rips it off my fence...
