11/28/09

Today was the BYU vs. Utah Utes game. It went into overtime but WE WON!!! It was awesome. Go Cougars!

November 27th

Black Friday!!!

This is the 3rd annual black Friday outing for Paul and I. I always look forward to this day. We had a rocky start (Me wanting to go early, Paul wanting to sleep) but it the end it was worth our efforts to go out in the crowds.

Nov. 26

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 25th

Have we mentioned that we have a lot of leaves? While Paul and I raked and bagged for 3 hours Andrew made the most of the ones we hadn't gotten to yet. He stacked them all up in the corner and then he and Emma took turns hiding in them. After that the kids took turns jumping off the fence into the pile. Awesome!

November 24

We can't get enough of Cosmo. The basketball Cosmo is very athletic and so fun to watch. I can't wait to see more of his moves as the season goes on.

November 23rd

I bought this kit a couple of months ago. I love it and love how quick it went together but was a little disappointed because it was much smaller than the one they had displayed in the shop. I went back in to buy some more fabric so I could extend it and they were sold out of the fabrics that were in the kit. I sewed some more strips on and the window pane chenille (that I got as a substitute) made the fabric pucker. At this point I am still debating my options.

326/365

Holy cow this year is almost gone!

Tonight Emma and I made muddy buddies together. It was our first time making them. She was a big help. The only mistake we made was not making a full batch. They were delish and we all want more.

Saturday

The kids got to meet LaVell Edwards at the BYU game on Saturday. Later we found out that he knows their grandma Fern. It's too bad we didn't have that info while we were chatting with him. If he had known he might not have been in such a hurry to get back to his box with his kettle corn.

Friday

Friday night we left the kids over and David and Nancy's so Paul and I could go out for dinner. Nancy had tons of cookies for them to decorate. They really outdid themselves decorating. It looked like we came back to Santa's workshop.

Thrusday

Emma won a medal at Reflections tonight for her picture of leaves that she took in our backyard. She was so excited!

Wednesday

I can't believe this is the only picture I took all day. I wanted it for a product review for my other blog. (which you can read all about over there) I really wish I had something else to use today though.

Tuesday

We spent a lot of time last night and tonight helping Emma clean her room. It had gotten so bad that we had to intervene. We re-arranged the furniture so she has more room in her floor for games and fun. She is so happy to have her room clean again.

Monday

I think I may be finished. The reason I say I think is because it is suppose to have a red border and I don't think I like it. So for now it is done. If I choose to add the border I have another hour or so of work. No biggie. There is no way that I will be able to have the quilted before Christmas so it is going to hang on my rack just like this.

Sunday

One of our family traditions is watching Amazing Race together on Sunday nights. Here are the kids right before we started this weeks episode. This season has fun because they went to Sweden. We were able to tell Emma "you rode on that train". It's fun to see them in places you've been. I really love the memories that we are creating as a family.

Saturday

We didn't get as lucky today. I woke up to snow in our yard. At lease it didn't stick to the roads or stay around for long.

Friday

Eww. Ick. Yuck. NOOOOOO! We dodged a bullet. Look how close it came to our yard. I am not ready for this yet. I hate snow.

316/365 Thursday

Leaves, leaves and more leaves. Tonight we tried to rake the leaves but we didn't get very far. There were just too many. We did get a huge pile that the kids had a blast playing in.

315/365 Wed.

Today I washed our sheets. Marius thinks our bed is his bed. He looked so put out when I took him off the down comforters and put him straight on the mattress. He's a total spoiled turd.

314/365

See, leaves are charming and provide hours of entertainment. Emma asked me to come take a picture outside. I was on the phone so I handed her my camera. When she came back I checked her pictures and was surprised to see what she had done. By that time she was back out touching her peace sign up (the leaves fall so fast it was already getting covered) and that's when I snapped her picture. FYI-One leg of the peace sign is hiding behind her.

313/365

It's going quicker than expected. I actually started sewing the top together tonight. I still don't think I will try and have it quilted before Christmas though. That would cut it really close. Anyway I am pleased with my progress.

Sunday Nov. 8th ( 312/365 )

We have a very large backyard, with four very large trees that have very large amounts of leaves. I think it is quite charming to have a yard full of pretty yellow leaves. Paul hates it. They fall off late in the year. Usually they get snowed on before we get them picked up and then they get soggy and nasty. I'll be honest, they are a huge pain. They're still pretty though.

Saturday Nov. 7th

Today our ward put on a Super Saturday and it was quite super. My favorite thing I made was this harvest sign. I love the colors and the wheat V made out of vinyl. I also made family blocks and a tile with a quote from President Monson.

Thursday 5th

(sorry these are out of order)

I took some more pictures of my Thanksgiving stuff today. I love this Jim Shore pumpkin but often forget I have it. Oops. This year we found it again and I am happy to have it out on display.

Friday the 6th

Forgive me for what I am about to do. I know this picture is not flattering at all but it's really all I've got. Paul and I went to Red Iguana on a date Friday night. Here is Paul enjoying his guacamole.

November 4th

The one that started it all...

I found this big turkey at Hallmark years ago. I thought it was pretty awesome. I couldn't just have one Thanksgiving decoration though. See where this is going? Now I have a small collection of turkeys and a pilgrims and cornucopias and all sorts of random fall stuff. Last night it all came out for it's annual appearance.

November 3rd

This is the quilt that I am taking to quilt group on Thursday. It is also the quilt that I have absolutely no chance of finishing before Christmas. If miracles happen and I actually do finish the top I guess I could just hang that over by quilt rack...

November 2nd

While we were in California in September we took the kids to the Lego store in Downtown Disney. Emma bought a bucket of random pieces. She just busted that baby open and started creating this week. She created a whole scene but my favorite was this crab that she made out of wheel wells.

November 1st

I figured it had been a while since we had seen Monsieur Marius. Doesn't he look thrilled to be featured again?

Happy Halloween

There is actually another picture that I like a lot better but I chose this one since it sums up the day so well. We love Halloween!

Oct. 30th

Today I was busy with Emma's class party and errands galore. I wanted something fun and festive for dinner that was also super easy. I made Witches Brew. Doesn't it look nasty? I'm sad to say, no one loved it.

October 29th 2009

Today I was a good little housewife. I baked banana bread and it was delicious. Now if I could just muster up the energy to make zucchini bread with the two zucs that have been on my counter for over a month...
